Best G-Chat Conversation

Best G-Chat Conversation of 2009: MILES KLEE

Miles Klee officially wins the best G-Chat conversation of 2009 with his comment: "Man, what is up with Owl City? Why is everyone so crazy about Owl City?" And the subsequent conversation we had during work hours about the merits of the band, their jesus influences and what elements of their songs are laughable.

Owl City spurred some great dialogue in my G-Chat conversations... if there was an award for best spurrer of great g-chat dialoge Owl City would win... unfortunately that is not a category. I can't just go making up categories.

Best Album

Best album or 2009: Definitely Maybe by Oasis

Sure, it didn't "come out" in 2009... in fact it came out 15 years ago... but like a fine wine it aged with time and I'm pretty sure we can all agree that it was the album Dru listened to the most during the year.

THEREFORE: Best album of 2009 goes to Definitely Maybe by Oasis. They show a lot of promise.

The Best Health Care Plan

Best Health Care Plan of 2009: Any of the drafts they had before they passed it

Yep. Remember the public option? The Medicare opt-in? Those were pretty great. Remember the health care plan we ended up getting? Yeah, me neither.

Joe Lieberman... that's all I have to say about that.

Best Year

Best Year of 2009: 2010

Easily the year that people talked about the most in 2009 was 2010. 2010 was a year that showed hope, promise, and an escape from the horrid-ness of 2009. 2010 was mentioned in such sentences as:
  • Don't worry kids... I'll get a job again... in 2010.
  • 2010... that'll be the year I finally leave home and get a place of my own...
  • Call us again in 2010, the economy is too tight for additional hires... but we like you and think you'll have a good shot in 2010.
Easily the best year of 2009 was 2010. Other years that were good included 2008, 2007 and 1928.
